Amy B. Smith
Amy B. Smith is a 20+ year global marketing executive, two-time Fortune 500 VP and CMCO in academia. She counsels boards, management teams, and executive leaders on strategy, high-stakes issues, brand positioning, media relations and campaigns.
Amy held leadership roles at Raytheon (now RTX), a Fortune 100 company, and Invensys plc, a FTSE 100 company in the UK. She served as Managing Director in Washington, D.C. for Burson, one of the world’s largest public relations firms, working on large-scale public education programs and projects in media and entertainment.
A staunch supporter of higher education access, Amy has served in leadership capacities at Texas A&M and Clemson, and as a guest lecturer at Howard University, Columbia Journalism School, and the University of California System.
Earlier in her career, Amy served overseas in humanitarian aid, for which she was awarded the Joint Civilian Meritorious Medal by the U.S. Secretary of the Army.
Amy serves on the boards of the Legacy Mission, a nonprofit that creates hopeful videos for those facing illnesses at no charge to families, and the Washington Political Film Foundation, a nonpartisan organization with the mission to advance the cause of civil discourse through the medium of film.
Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University, a Master of Public Service Administration at Texas A&M University, a Master of International Management from Thunderbird Global Graduate School, and a Channels-to-Market certificate from Harvard Business School.
When not on travel, Amy enjoys spending time with her family and their many animals at The Lucky Duck Farm near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
